The low pressure area east of northern Cagayan has intensified into a tropical depression midday on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Tropical Depression Inday will bring intermittent moderate to occasional heavy monsoon rains over:
- Ilocos Region;
- Cordillera Administrative Region;
- Zambales;
- Bataan;
- Pampanga; and
- Bulacan.
Scattered light to occasional heavy rains are expected until Friday over the following areas:
- Metro Manila;
- Cagayan Valley;
- Cavite;
- Batangas;
- Laguna, and
- the rest of Central Luzon.
Pagasa said Inday may intensify into a tropical storm within 24 hours.
At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “#IndayPH” was estimated at 660 km ESE of Basco, Batanes (19.0 °N, 128.1 °E)

Inday was last spotted 660 kilometers (km) east southeast of Basco, Batanes.
With maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph, Inday was moving eastward at 15 kph.
Sea travel is risky over the western seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon due to rough to very rough seas.
