Rain to continue over Luzon; new LPA likely to become storm in 24 hrs

Persistent monsoon rain will still affect Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon on Wednesday, the state weather agency said.

Aside from the Philippine capital, the southwest monsoon will also dump rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

On the other hand, Bicol region and Visayas will have overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms while Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa further said the low pressure area 540 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan may intensify into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.  /kga
