The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the number coding for city buses and private vehicles on Tuesday due to heavy flooding caused by Tropical Depression Henry in several areas in Metro Manila.
MMDA earlier said the number coding scheme was lifted in all Metro Manila areas except for three areas: Pasig, Las Piñas, and Makati.

However, in its latest tweet, the MMDA issued a new announcement saying the number coding was lifted in all areas including Pasig but still not in two cities: Las Piñas and Makati.

Then, later on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., Makati Mayor Abby Binay also lifted the number coding scheme in Makati City.

In an earlier advisory on Tuesday, the MMDA said the suspension of number coding scheme is only applicable along national roads.
“MMDA suspends number coding for City buses and private vehicles only, sa jurisdiction lang ng MMDA (national roads),” the MMDA said.
The MMDA then clarified that it is upon the discretion of the local government units if they would suspend the coding scheme. /vvp
