Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian ordered the suspension of work at Valenzuela City Hall on Tuesday as heavy monsoon rain inundated many parts of the city.
“City hall operations will shut down 12 noon today (July 17). All employees will be asked to go home (by) 12 noon today. Due to weather and flooding,” Gatchalian said.
However, the city disaster and emergency response teams will remain operational, he noted.
As of 11 a.m., 17 areas in Valenzuela have been flooded:
