COTABATO CITY-– Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a teacher who was walking along a busy street here on Friday, police said.
Chief Inspector Reynaldo Delantien, police station 1 chief, said the victim, Nasser Gayak, 40, and resident of Pagalungan, Maguindanao was walking toward the passenger van terminal along Jose Lim Street when he was shot by one of the two assailants at 5:30 p.m.
Gayak, a teacher of Mindanao Capitol Colleges, was hit on the head and died in the hospital. The suspect fled on board a black motorbike.
Delantien said police recovered an empty shell for a .45 caliber pistol.
Investigators are eyeing personal grudge as the motive behind the murder.
The killing of Nasser came two days after gunmen shot and injured a school principal in Barangay Takepan, Pikit, North Cotabato. /jpv
