Manila roads closed for 2-day INC event

Several roads in Manila will be closed to traffic this weekend for a two-day activity of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).

At least 200,000 INC members are expected to participate in the launch of INC’s “Worldwide Aid to Fight Poverty” project at Rizal Park.

Starting 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, the stretch of Katigbak Drive, South Drive and Independence Road will be off-limits to vehicles.

On Sunday, July 15, the following roads will be closed starting at 12:01 a.m.:

Road 10, from Moriones Street to Delpan Bridge
Bonifacio Drive, from Delpan Bridge to Katigbak Drive
Roxas Boulevard, from Katigbak to P. Ocampo Street
P. Burgos Street (both lanes), from Lagusnilad Underpass to Roxas Boulevard
Finance Road, from Taft Avenue to P. Burgos
T.M. Kalaw Street (westbound) from M.H. Del Pilar Street to Roxas Boulevard
Quirino Avenue (westbound) from M.H. del Pilar to Roxas Boulevard

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority advised motorists to take the following alternative routes:

All vehicles on the southbound lane of Road 10 shall turn left to Moriones Street to point of destination
All vehicles coming from Pasay and intending to use the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right to P. Ocampo Street or use Roxas Boulevard Service Road to point of destination
All vehicles coming from three bridges—Quezon, McArthur and Jones—and intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall go straight to Taft Avenue to point of destination
All vehicles coming from Ayala Bridge shall turn left or right to Taft Avenue to point of destination
All vehicles utilizing the westbound lane of Quirino Avenue shall turn left to Mabini Street to point of destination
Cargo trucks shall take Osmeña Highway to Quirino Avenue going to Nagtahan via A.H. Lacson to Yuseco, Capulong Streets and Road 10, and vice versa.
