Man killed after lobbing grenade at Isabela cops
ROXAS, ISABELA – A motorcycle-riding man was shot dead after hurling a grenade at policemen at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday (July 11).
The police manning a checkpoint in Barangay (village) San Placido noticed the rider turn back to avoid being flagged down, so they gave chase. When he rider entered a narrow road, he turned and hurled a grenade, which exploded near the patrol car.
The man tried to throw a second hand grenade but police fired at him, killing him, said Senior Inspector Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.
The man has not been identified. He was described as five-foot tall, and between 20 and 30 years old. The man was wearing a black shirt and a blue-and-black-colored short pants. Villamor Visaya Jr./lb
