Alleged drug supplier to call center agents slain in Rizal shootout

SAN PEDRO CITY – An alleged illegal drug pusher was killed in a police shootout in Cainta town in Rizal province on Thursday.

A report from the Calabarzon police said a police officer went undercover to buy P1,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from Randy Miranda around 12:30 a.m. in Barangay (village) San Isidro.

Miranda, according to the police, was a known supplier of illegal drugs to call center agents in Cainta and Pasig City.

Upon his arrest, Miranda suddenly fired at the police, prompting the shootout. Miranda died instantly from multiple bullet wounds.

The police recovered a .38 caliber gun and 22 sachets of suspected shabu worth about P680,000.

The suspect, however, was shot dead after he opened fire at the law
enforcers.

The police report did not indicate the exact amount of drugs recovered but said it could be worth at least half a million pesos. They also recovered the .38 caliber gun that Taguinod allegedly used during the gunfight.
