LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN – Nine suspects were arrested for possessing unlicensed firearms in simultaneous police operations conducted in Pangasinan province from 3 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday (July 11).
The police served search warrants in the towns of Agno, Burgos, Bayambang, Bautista, San Manuel, and Malasiqui, and San Carlos City, said Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, Pangasinan police community relations officer.
One of the suspects, Rodrigo Malong, has been linked to a gun-for-hire, when police raided his home in San Manuel. In San Carlos City, three brothers were arrested for indiscriminate firing following complaints from neighbors.
The searches yielded a 9-mm pistol, a shotgun, a caliber .38 revolver, and a caliber .45 pistol; as well as ammunition, a bayonet and two sachets containing what could be shabu (crystal meth). YOLANDA SOTELO
