8 alleged shabu peddlers nabbed in Lucena buy busts
LUCENA CITY – Eight alleged drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust operations here early Wednesday morning, police reported.
Supt. Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said members of the drug enforcement unit seized a total of 5.4 grams of shabu worth 24,300 in the street in three separate operations in different parts of the city.
Police arrested Ramil Solis, Edgardo Llaga, Kevin Belen, Junjun Escarcha, Jay-Ar Malaluan, Ric Rodel Zuñiga, Mary Grace Recla and John Rex Castigador in a series of buy-bust operations in Barangays 7 and Ibabang Iyam from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m.
According to a police agent, the arrested suspects were among the few remaining village level peddlers of the illegal drugs in the city.
He said their illegal activities were tipped off to the authorities by concerned villagers and reformed drug users through the police hotline numbers.
