Ombudsman Morales to successor: ‘Monitor cases or go crazy’
Constantly monitor cases or you will go crazy, outgoing Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales has advised her successor on Monday.
“Given the volume of work here, you’ll go crazy if you don’t monitor [status of cases],” Morales said in an interview with Karen Davilla on ANC Headstart.
Morales’ seven-year term ends on July 26, 2018. The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) is already in the process of searching her replacement.
Morales said she keeps a piece of paper with a reminder to call investigators to follow-up on their investigation reports of which she said she expects them to exhaust all issues that pop up in the course of the investigation.
The Ombudsman also advised her successor to prioritize high-profile cases such as the Priority Development Assistance Funds cases that involve millions. /muf Alyssa Javier/INQUIRER.net intern
