The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recorded at least 26,856 applications in Metro Manila in the first week of voter registration for 2019 polls, its spokesman James Jimenez said.
The figure includes applications for registration, transfer with reactivation, correction of entry and reinstatement of records in the list of voters, Jimenez reported in statement on Tuesday.
“There were 11,277 applicants for male and 15,579 for female,” he said.
Of all cities, Caloocan City first district recorded the highest number with 1,518 applications.
It was followed by Makati City second district with 1,442, while Pasay City second district came third with 1,223 applications.
“The resumption of the system of continuing registration will run until September 29,” Jimenez said.
