President Rodrigo Duterte’s charter change committee has released the full copy of the proposed federal Constitution.

Unlike the supposed “drafts” circulated by netizens on social media on June 27 and 30, the copy released by the 22-member Consultative Committee (Con-com) on Monday is the true, final, and approved draft of the proposed Charter.

The final draft of the proposed federal Charter was approved on July 3, Tuesday, after former Senate President Nene Pimentel’s motion for approval was unopposed.

During his campaign for the presidency, Duterte promised that his administration would oversee the shift to a federal form of government.

Under the proposed federal Charter, Duterte’s Con-com aimed to eradicate political dynasties, implement political and electoral reforms, decentralize political power, and design an “indissoluble” nation. /vvp
