Pulse Asia: Poe still frontrunner in pre-May 2019 polls

Incumbent Senator Grace Poe still tops the list of possible contenders in the 2019 midterm elections, a recent pre-election survey of the Pulse Asia showed.

The survey, released on Monday, revealed that Poe enjoys 99 percent awareness among respondents as 67.4 percent said they would vote for the senator.

Former senator and Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano came in second in the Pulse Asia survey with 97 percent awareness level and 55.7 percent voter preference.

Senator Cynthia Villar followed with 50. 1 percent of respondents likely to vote for her while Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio had 46.2 percent.

Senator Sonny Angara garnered 41.9 percent voter preference while Jinggoy Estrada got 37.9 percent in the latest survey of Pulse Asia.

Other individuals who landed in the so-called “Magic 12” included former PNP chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa; Senators Aquilino “Koko” Pinentel III, Nancy Binay, JV Ejercito, and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino; and former Senators Sergio “Serge” Osmena and Lito Lapid.
