It’s a go: Duterte, Valles ‘private meeting’ in Malacañang
The meeting between President Rodrigo Duterte and Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President Romulo Valles will push through this Monday afternoon, Malacañang said.
“[It’s a] private meeting,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.
The meeting will be in Malacañang, he added.
Reports have surfaced that the meeting between the two leaders would not happen as scheduled due to the ongoing CBCP plenary assembly.
The dialogue between the two leaders was set after Mr. Duterte hurled scathing remarks against the Catholic Church, even calling God “stupid” and questioning the creation theory in the Bible. /kga
