A cache of firearms was seized by personnel of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (Ceza) at the Lal-lo airport in Cagayan province last week.

Ceza administrator Raul Lambino said Ceza personnel intercepted seven boxes with M16 rifles and handguns that were about to be flown out by a group of Chinese individuals at the Cagayan North International Airport in Lal-lo town on June 28.

“Our personnel took the boxes after the carriers refused to have them inspected. The boxes were declared to contain dragon fruits and old casino chips,” Lambino said. —Melvin Gascon
