Palace orders ERC to implement suspension of 4 execs
Malacañang ordered the chair of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to implement the suspension of four commissioners of the agency.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea issued the memorandum on July 6 to Agnes Devanadera. The commissioners have reportedly remained in their post despite their suspension.
The Ombudsman in May 18, 2018, suspended ERC Commissioners Alfredo Non, Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc, Josefina Patricia Asirit and Geronimo Sta. Ana for three months for neglect of duty.
This was after the officials allegedly tolerating the misuse of bill deposits by the Manila Electric Company. /jpv
