Pakistani money lender shot dead in North Cotabato
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Another foreigner involved in the money-lending business was killed by unidentified gunmen in North Cotabato, the second money lender killed in this province in three days and the fourth since October last year.
Supt. Bernard Tayong, spokesperson of North Cotabato provincial police office, said Hazrat Hussain, 26, a Pakistani and a resident of Tabuk in Zamboaga City, was parking his motorbike to collect money from a roadside store along Zayre Highway, Barangay Poblacion, Carmen town in North Cotabato province, when two men approached him and opened fire using .45 caliber pistol at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The trader died on the spot. The suspect took the victim’s sling bag containing an undertermined amount of cash and fled using the victim’s motorcycle.
“It was a case of robbery since the suspects took his motorbike. We are still investigating,” Tayong told the INQUIRER. /ee
