The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a provisional fare hike of P1.
“The board in its regular meeting approved tonight a provisional fare increase of P1 for the first 4 kilometers for PUJ (public utility jeepneys) plying [the] NCR (National Capital Region), Region 3, and Region 4 routes,” LTFRB board member Atty. Aileen Lizada said on Wednesday via Viber.
Lizada, however, said that no order has been issued yet regarding the fare hike. Hence, jeepney drivers cannot yet collect a P9 fare from passengers for the first four kilometers.
On Tuesday, public utility jeepney drivers asked the LTFRB to grant a provisional increase as they wait for their P2 fare hike petition. /ee
