FOOTBALL enthusiasts will again gather at the Aboitiz Sports Field at the North Reclamation Area today for the resumption of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup.
Teams who lost their opening matches last weekend are hoping to recover and barge into the win column as they face various opponents today.
Those who won, on the other hand, are hoping to preserve their streak.
All games will be held in the morning due to the field’s unavailability this afternoon. The afternoon games for Players 8 and Players 10 will be held tomorrow.
In the Players 6, San Roque Football Club (SRFC), Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), Giuseppe FC and BMALV are all hoping to add to their points by winning their respective games today.
SRFC will face SHS-AdC, DBTC will meet Children’s Paradise Montessori School (CPMS), Giuseppe FC will tangle with Bright Academy B and BMALV will battle Canduman Dedon. MABES FC and Bright Academy A are also seeing action today.
In the Players 8, defending champions DBTC 1 hope to recover from its opening day loss against sister team DBTC 4 while Canduman Dedon faces CMPS and DBTC-A battles sister team DBTC 2.
Another defending champion who will get a chance to redeem itself after losing on opening day is the SHS-AdC in the Players 10 against DBTC 2.
Also seeing action are Springdale FC vs. DBTC 5, DBTC 3 vs. Center for International Education (CIE) 2, and MABES FC vs. BMALV.
In the Boys 12, defending champions Springdale FC guns for its secon win against Colegio dela Inmaculada Conception – Mandaue (CIC-M).
Other matches pit Cebu Eastern Colleges (CEC) vs. Subangdaku Football Club (SFC), Giuseppe FC vs. MABES and SAIS vs. Bright Academy.
Both the Boys 14 and the Girls Under 17 will have single matches each.
