ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two militia members of Joint Task Force Basilan were wounded in a grenade explosion on Tuesday night in Isabela City, Basilan province.
Chief Supt. Edwin De Ocampo, deputy regional director for administration at the Police Regional Office here, said that a grenade exploded around 9:40 p.m. at Sitio Processing in Barangay Sumagdang in Isabela City.
According to military intelligence, the wounded persons are members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu).
“They are now conducting checkpoints,” De Ocampo said. “The Isabela City Police Station and the Explosives Ordnance Division of the police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 are now investigating the incident.” /atm
