Malacañang assured the public on Tuesday that the government would “spare no effort” to bring justice for the death of Mayor Ferdinand Bote of General Tinio in Nueva Ecija.
“We assure everyone that we would discharge the state obligation for every murder. We will spare no effort in getting to the bottom of this latest violent crime,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
Bote was killed in an ambush in Cabanatuan City on Tuesday afternoon, a day after Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili was killed during the flag raising ceremony on Monday.
“We are confident that PNP Chief, Director-General Oscar Albayalde, would be able to conduct a fair and thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Roque said.
“Our deep condolences go to the bereaved family of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote,” he added. /ee
