LUCENA CITY – At least three stores inside a shopping mall in Tiaong town in Quezon province lost a total of an estimated P423,000 cash to still unknown thieves early Monday.

In a report, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, said the robbers stole P221,433 from My Basic Clothes store; P153,700 from Expressions; and P49,468 from Rodeo Drive Clothes inside the City Mall located along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Lalig on the outskirts of the town.

At around 4 a.m., a security guard reported to the police about the pounding sound from the underground of the shopping mall. Police rushed to the mall and discovered that the vaults of the three stores were destroyed and all its valuable contents, mostly cash, were looted.

Police investigation is on-going as of Monday afternoon. /je
