Catbalogan rocked by 4.3 quake

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake hit 47 kilometers northeast of the city of Catbalogan, capital of Samar province on Sunday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said in its bulletin that instrumental intensities were felt in Catbalogan (Intensity IV) and in Palo, Leyte (Intensity II).

The earthquake was tectonic of origin, and was located at a depth of 28 kilometers below the ground.  No aftershocks and no damages are expected as of posting.
