LUCENA CITY – A dump truck driver and two others sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca town in Quezon province early Sunday.

Police report said Joel Raceles, who was driving a refrigerated van, accidentally lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curved portion of the highway and consequently collided head-on with a Bicol-bound dump truck being driven by Rex Sardea in Barangay (village) Villa Arcaya around 6:30 a.m.

Sardea and two van passengers — Arvin Hernandez and Joemar Mohammad — sustained serious injuries and were rushed by rescuers to RAKKK Prophet Medical Center in Gumaca for treatment. /je
