LUCENA CITY – Three motorcycle riders, all of them minors, were injured after their vehicle slammed into an electric post in Sariaya town in Quezon province Friday night.
Supt. Rafael Torres, Sariaya police chief, said in a report that the motorcycle being driven by Noelito Cueto, 16, while negotiating a national road, crashed into an electric post in Barangay (village) Montecillo around 7 p.m.
With the strong impact, the driver and his two back-riders, Jack Landicho, 17 and his younger brother Jordan, 15, were all thrown off the bike and landed on the concrete pavement.
The victims, who all suffered injuries, were taken to the Lucena United Doctors Hospital in nearby Lucena City for treatment.
Police said the three motorcycle riders were not wearing crash helmets. Wearing crash helmets for all riders of two-wheeled motorized vehicle is mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
