Tropical storm “Florita” has maintained its strength and would continue to affect the northern section of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa said on Saturday that the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley, would have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the trough of Florita.
Possible flashfloods and landslides are expected caused by light to moderate rains, the Pagasa warned the residents in the said area.
Meanwhile, the Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa said that Florita was last spotted at 775 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes at 3:00 a.m. of Saturday.
It has a maximum winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. Florita is moving northwest at a speed of 8 kph. /jpv
