Mandaluyong fire destroys P1M worth of property

A seven-hour fire which broke out at a construction area in Mandaluyong City on Thursday night resulted in damages worth P1 million.

A report sent by Senior Insp. Noemi Guevarra to the Eastern Police District said the fire started at a construction site beside SM Megamall.

The fire reached third alarm around 7:47 p.m., and was declared out around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, said Mandaluyong City Fire Marshall Supt. Ruben Ramirez.

Most of the construction workers were resting at their barracks when the incident happened. No one was injured in the fire. The mall opened at 10 a.m. on Friday as scheduled.—JODEE A. AGONCILLO
