President stops over in Cebu for birthday party

President Rodrigo Duterte made a short stopover in Cebu City on Thursday night, said Supt. Artemio Ricabo, deputy director for administration of the Cebu City Police Office.

The President flew to Cebu from Bohol, where he gave a keynote speech for the 25th national convention of Vice Mayors League of the Philippines.

Ricabo said Mr. Duterte attended a birthday party at Cebu Grand Convention Center in Cebu City and graced an activity organized by Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Mr. Duterte’s most trusted aide.

The President was with Go during a ceremony, also at the convention center, where he gave shoes to selected indigents in Metro Cebu.

Ricabo said Mr. Duterte’s visit was unannounced. Media were not allowed to interview him. —BENJIE TALISIC
