Immigration readies personnel at new Cebu airport terminal
More immigration officers are set to be deployed at the new passenger terminal of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in the coming months.
Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente said on Friday that they would be hiring new immigration officers and field more personnel at the MCIA.
As of posting, Morente said 12 immigration officers were deployed in the latest batch of immigration personnel already stationed at MCIA Terminal 2. The terminal is scheduled to open on July 1, Sunday.
Marc Red Mariñas, chief of the BI Ports Division, said the deployment of additional officers was necessary in view of the “increasing volume of international flights and passengers” at the MCIA.
