Wanted cop nabbed in Pampanga
CAMP OLIVAS, PAMPANGA — A former policeman wanted for malversation of public property in Tarlac province was arrested on Thursday (June 28) in Magalang town in Pampanga province.
Former Police Officer 1 Vergel Estomo, 38, was cornered in Barangay San Pedro 2 at 5:15 a.m. by policemen serving an arrest warrant issued by Judge Maria Roma Flor Ortiz of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in Tarlac City. It sets bail at P40,000.
The police did not provide details about Estomo’s alleged offense.
Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, said there would be no let up in the campaign to track down persons wanted by the law. TONETTE OREJAS
