President Rodrigo Duterte wanted swifter implementation of his “Build, Build, Build” program in the provinces and wanted more infrastructure projects built outside Metro Manila.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the President was not content with the current pace of Build, Build, Build.
The President did not identify any delayed project, but many were still on “the drawing board,” Roque said.
Quoting Economic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia, Roque said the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and two other regions were places where Build, Build, Build should be hastened.
The ambitious infrastructure program seeks to pour in hundreds of billions of pesos on airports, roads, railways, energy facilities, irrigation systems and flood control projects. —Julie M. Aurelio
