The Pasig City police is looking for the owner of a black Toyota Vios that figured in a hit-and-run incident on Sunday night, leaving one of its police investigators injured.
As of Tuesday, SPO2 Rolando Anselmo remains confined in the hospital although doctors have said he was in stable condition after suffering a broken rib.
A report to the Eastern Police District said that Anselmo was on his way to work on his motorcycle around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday when he braked to avoid a bicycle rider who suddenly stopped in front of him.
As Anselmo lost his balance and fell off his motorcycle, the Toyota Vios behind him on C. Raymundo Avenue struck him. Instead of stopping, however, the driver fled.
The police said it was dark in the area where the accident happened so no one was able to get the vehicle’s license plate.
Investigators said they were looking at footage taken by closed-circuit television cameras for clues in identifying the driver.
