The Otis bridge in Manila was closed to motorists on Tuesday due to “instability,” the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the closure order came from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.

Media reports showed that one side of the middle of the bridge had sunk with cracks around the depressed portion.

The MMDA advised motorists to take the following alternative routes:

Public coming from the Nagtahan bridge, go straight to South Super Highway, then turn right to Zamora, make a left turn to President Quirino Extention going to the desired destination.

Meanwhile, motorists from South Super Highway, left turn to Plaza Dilao to President Quirino Exit, go straight to UN Avenue, then right turn to Romualdez, then right to Ayala bridge going to your destination. /cbb
