How to solve the drug problem in the country? The Senate President has “the answer.”
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said: “In the war against drugs, it cannot all be supply issue on drugs.”
“There must be a relentless DEMAND reduction strategy. It cannot be all supply reduction,” he wrote.
According to Sotto, even if illegal drugs such as shabu, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and designer drugs would be removed and destroyed, drug dependents would always find another drug to abuse.
He noted that cough syrups, contact cement, nubaine as well as regulated and over-the-counter drugs could also be abused by drug dependents.
“Therefore Supply reduction and Demand reduction is the answer!” he concluded. Cathrine Gonzales, INQUIRER.net /kga
