DID YOU KNOW: Over 2-M bus trips recorded in NCR last year

According to the latest report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, a total of 2,082,390 bus trips were recorded in 2017 through the Bus Management and Dispatch System (BMDS). The average number of bus trips recorded per day through the system is 5,702. The BMDS is a scheme where drivers are registered through fingerprint scanners and dispatch is controlled at four major terminals in Baclaran, Alabang, Fairview and Malabon on top of 10 satellite stations. A total of 11,418 drivers have been enrolled in this project since 2012. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
