DAVAO CITY – Ilocos Gov. Imee Marcos on Friday said the Supreme Court’s decision affirming the dismissal of the civil suit filed against her family and their alleged cronies was welcome.

“Of course, I am happy but actually that has been dismissed already in 2010 by the Sandiganbayan,” he told reporters here.

Imee said the decision took 31 years but she was elated about it.

The claim was filed by the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) “for reconveyance, reversion, restitution and damages.”

But the SC sustained the anti-graft court’s decision to dismiss the case on the grounds that the PCGG had failed to support its case with evidence.
