The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists on Friday about possible gridlocks along EDSA and other major roads in Manila and Quezon City this weekend, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conducts it highway reblocking and repairs.
According to the MMDA, the DPWH reblocking and repairs will commence by 11 p.m. Friday on the following areas:
- EDSA (southbound)
- After Arayat Street Service Road (3rd lane from sidewalk)
- In front of Francesca Tower after Scout Borromeo (3rd lane from center island)
- EDSA (northbound)
- Near North Avenue MRT Station (2nd lane)
- Portion of Commonwealth Avenue, from Batasan Road to Kalinisan Street (2nd lane)
- H. Lacson Avenue, near España Boulevard
- Congressional Avenue before Mindanao Avenue (3rd lane)
- Fairview Avenue from Mindanao Avenue Extension to Jordan Plains Subdivision to Mindanao Avenue Extension
The MMDA said the DPWH will finish its reblocking and repairs by 5 a.m. of June 25 (Monday).
For the meantime, the agency advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid being caught in possible traffic jams. /kga
