The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) raided the office of a company reportedly providing illegal towing services along the South Super Highway in Makati City on Wednesday.
Two colorum trucks owned by PMA Towing were apprehended during the operation.
The MMDA said it received reports that the company is charging owners of towed vehicles P9,500 to P11,500 for the service without issuing an official receipt.
Transactions were also reportedly done inside a small shanty along the highway, the MMDA added.
The trucks of PMA Towing were then brought to the impounding area of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
The raid was conducted by joint agents of the MMDA, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the Philippine National Police – HPG.
On Tuesday, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said impounded vehicles are brought to Tumana in Marikina City.
He also announced the indefinite suspension of Arrom Towing Services also for illegal towing activities.

Garcia then urged the public to report to the MMDA if their vehicles were towed illegally.
“Nakiki-usap po kami na mag file ng complaint para marami po tayong ebidensya (We urge the public to file a complaint so we can gather evidence),” Garcia said in a press conference. /ee
