Stroke patient survives fire in Benguet town

LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET—- A man recovering from a stroke was treated for serious burn injuries after surviving a Monday morning (June 18) fire that gutted his house in this Benguet capital town.

Rogelio Kiang, 73, was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital for burns on his back after being rescued from his house below the Benguet provincial jail at sitio (subvillage) Upper Kesbeng, Barangay (village) Poblacion at 10:30 a.m.

The La Trinidad Bureau of Fire declared a fire-out by 11:30 a.m. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined. Kimberlie Quitasol/lb
