Libad Festival
The town of Calumpit in Bulacan province pays homage to its patron St. John the Baptist through a fluvial procession. The festival took its name from the word “libad,” which means “iniikutan o nililibaran” (a place that can be toured). Boats along Calumpit River follow a pagoda where the image of St. John the Baptist was placed as a way to give thanks for the town’s blessings. Activities also include a street dancing parade, variety show and singing contest.
