Kadamay deplores President’s threat to harm its members
An urban poor group on Friday deplored President Duterte’s order for the police to force out members who would occupy abandoned units at government housing sites, saying he was himself guilty of tolerating China’s incursions in the West Philippine Sea.
Mr. Duterte told police on Thursday they could, if attacked, “kill to implement” legal regulation. “Why are we being treated like we’re the enemy? Is it not the Duterte government that is giving away the country’s territory?” Gloria Arellano, chair of Kalipunan ng mga Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) said.—MELVIN GASCON
