The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has cautioned motorists of possible traffic jam in areas where road repairs will take place this weekend.
The MMDA said that portions of Epifanio de los Santos Ave (Edsa) would undergo road repairs starting Friday.
“Continuous downpour these past few days have eroded portions of the major road, creating potholes in various sizes,” MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a statement.
“We have received reports of motorcycle accidents because of these potholes. We advise motorists to take precautionary measures while motorcycle riders should stay on motorcycle lane,” he added.
Particularly, the MMDA said road repairs would affect the following areas:
- Guadalupe and Shaw Boulevard (southbound), Ayala, Arnaiz, and Cubao (north and southbound)
- EDSA after Arayat St. (3rd lane from the sidewalk) Service Road (southbound)
- EDSA infront of Francesca Tower to after Sct. Borromeo (3rd lane from the center island) (southbound)
- EDSA near North Ave., MRT Station (2nd lane) (northbound)
Further, the MMDA said road repairs would also affect portions of Batasan Road near Commonwealth Ave. to Kalinisan St. (2nd lane) (northbound); A.H Lacson Ave. near España (northbound); and C-5 Road in front of Solace and Burger King (southbound).
The MMDA said road repairs along C-5 road will continue next weekend from 10 p.m., June 22 until 4 a.m., June 25. /kga
