MAN SHOT DEAD IN HANTAK GAME

A SON of a Cebu City Hall employee was shot dead by three unidentified men in barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, early morning yesterday.

Christopher Empenaydo was watching a coin-toss game or hantak when he was shot in the head past 4 a.m.

The assailants fled into sitio Huyong-huyong.

MAN KILLED IN BALAMBAN

A 39-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead while driving home in barangay Buanoy, Balamban town, western Cebu, last Wednesday night.

Joel Labaya was shot twice in the back.

He came from a drinking session and went home ahead of his friends on board a motorcycle.

DEAD BABY FOUND IN MANDAUE

A DEAD baby boy was found in a box left in a vacant lot in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City, early morning yesterday.

The baby was believed to be a newborn. His umbilical cord and placenta were still intact.

The baby was found by Lito Arnejo, 29, at the back of the Cebu International Convention Center.

MARIJUANA PEDDLER FALLS

A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana sticks in a buy-bust operation last Wednesday afternoon in barangay Sambag, Bogo City, northern Cebu.

Police recovered from Randy Buhawi 30 sticks of hand-rolled marijuana, P440 cash and the P20 buy-bust money.

Buhawi allegedly sold two sticks of marijuana to a policeman who acted as a poseur buyer

CAR FALLS OFF BRIDGE, DRIVER HURT

A 51-YEAR-OLD bank manager was wounded when the car he was driving fell off a bridge in barangay Balud, San Fernando, southern Cebu, yesterday afternoon.

Edwin Camacho, manager of Allied Bank, was lucky to survive the accident as the car landed on rocks.

Camacho sustained minor injuries but the Toyota Avanza with plate number YGE-180 was badly damaged. The car overturned when it landed on the ground, said PO3 Julius Caesar Parages, investigator of the San Fernando police.

Police said no one witnessed the accident around 3 p.m.
