DID YOU KNOW: 36,321 illegal vendors removed from streets in 2017

According to the 2017 annual report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, a total of 36,621 illegal vendors and 13,594 illegal obstructions or structures were removed by the agency’s Sidewalk Clearing Operations Group (SCOG) last year. The  report also showed that 965 informal settlers were evicted by the SCOG in 2017. —Marielle Medina
