Passport applicants were greeted Thursday night with an error when they logged on to the appointment system of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA.)

On Thursday morning, Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano proudly announced that the DFA Consular Affairs will open 50,000 passport appointment slots at noon and another 50,000 at night.

But the DFA’s passport appointment system could not be accessed as of 10 p.m.
The DFA also formally launched on Thursday its ePayment system, an upgrade to the appointment system that requires applicants to pay at authorized payment centers.
Applicants took to social media to express their disappointment on the unavailability of the service:

they should put back the group appoinment because it's very costly for a family of four to have an individual appoinment schedule.
