World-rated Filipino fighters from the ALA Boxing Gym will hold the second Pinoy Pride X public preview at the open area of the PEZA football field this Saturday to give fight fans a look at what they have prepared against their high-caliber foreign opponents.
The public sparring will begin at 5 p.m. featuring reigning IBF International Featherweight champion, Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista, whose worthiness to challenge for a world crown will be tested by undefeated Mexican prospect and knockout artist, Miguel Angel Mendoza.
Mendoza has an outstanding record of 17 wins with 17 knockouts. His opponents have not lasted more than five rounds, and only one opponent has reached the fifth.
Their upcoming match will be a significant one not only because it may catapult Bautista closer to a world championship, but it would also boost Mendoza’s rank and add to his professional boxing experience.
Also in the public sparring is OPBF Flyweight king Rocky “The Road Warrior” Fuentes, who will be fighting WBC International Silver Light Flyweight champion Lookdiaw Tor Buamas of Thailand.
Genesis Servania, who is out to prove his worth as a top Super Bantamweight prospect will face Marcos “Geraldito” Cardenas, will also demonstrate his boxing skills in front of fight fans.
The Bautista-Mendoza bout is the main event in the 10th installment of Pinoy Pride, the boxing mega-series which is a brainchild of ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN.
Free Pinoy Pride X tickets will be given to lucky boxing fans who can answer very simple questions during the sparring session. /PR with Correspondent Dale Rosal
