LEGAZPI CITY – About 6,000 job seekers trooped to the Ayala Mall here to apply and hopefully land a job at the job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol on Independence Day.

Rovelinda dela Rosa, acting regional director DOLE Bicol, said the Independence Day celebration was a perfect opportunity for Bicolanos to land a job, where 45 employers were seeking about 7,000 employees in various fields.

She said the job fair also had orientation and lectures on work, business and livelihood, in coordination with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Department of Trade and Industry.

“There are lots of opportunities so they should grab it,” dela Rosa said.

Last May 1 (Labor Day), 600 job seekers were hired on the spot during the job fair.
