Palace suspends classes, gov’t work in Metro Manila, Calabarzon on Sept. 3

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang Palace announced the cancellation of classes and work in government offices in Metro Manila and Calabarzon for Tuesday, September 3 due to Tropical Storm Enteng.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin made the declaration through Memorandum Circular No. 63.

“[T]o ensure the safety of the general public, work in government officers and classes at all levels in National Capital Region and Region IV-A (Calabarzon) are hereby suspended on 03 September 2024,” the memo stated.

However, the suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads, according to the memo.

The tropical storm also struck Central Visayas, killing two people there, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
