Kush, marijuana oil worth P287k seized in Cavite buy-bust

LUCENA CITY – Law enforcers arrested two suspected “high-value” drug traffickers and seized more than P287,000 worth of marijuana and its derivatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 4A reported on Sunday that their operatives and local cops nabbed Melvin Cruz, 29, and Alexandra Nicole Cruz, 29, at 8:40 p.m. in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Sampaloc IV.

Authorities seized 40 grams of high-grade marijuana or “kush” worth P60,000 and 65 pieces of assorted flavored disposable vape pens containing marijuana oil worth P227,500.

The suspects, both residents of the locality, are classified on the police watch list as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade

Police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of prohibited hemp.

The suspects were detained and will face a complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
